Bouygues Telecom and Free Join Aduna to Expand Network API Adoption in France
Aduna, a joint venture between leading telecom operators and Ericsson, has announced that Bouygues Telecom and Free (iliad Group) will join Orange as network partners to advance the adoption of network Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) in France. This collaboration aims to accelerate digital innovation by making standardized network APIs available to developers, enabling new applications across multiple industries. Aduna, launched in September 2024, aggregates and sells network APIs globally, allowing developers to integrate advanced telecom capabilities into their services.
The first two network APIs, SIM Swap and Know Your Customer (KYC), are set to launch in France in Spring 2025, following final agreements with the participating operators. These APIs will enhance security and digital identity verification, supporting enterprises in fraud prevention and compliance efforts. Built on the CAMARA framework, Aduna’s roadmap includes additional APIs for location verification, network insights, and quality of service—features in high demand for data-driven enterprise solutions. By uniting major telecom providers, Aduna is positioning France as a leader in the global network API economy.
Aduna CEO Anthony Bartolo emphasized that the initiative will provide developers with seamless access to CAMARA-based network APIs, fostering innovation and accelerating digital transformation. Telecom leaders from Bouygues Telecom, Free, and Orange see this partnership as a catalyst for the broader adoption of network APIs across Europe and beyond. Aduna will showcase its API offerings at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025, highlighting the role of programmable networks in enhancing connectivity and security.
