AWS 400G Direct Connect Now Available at CoreSite Silicon Valley, Northern Virginia

CoreSite has announced the availability of native 400 Gbps (400G) AWS Direct Connect at its Silicon Valley and Northern Virginia data center campuses, marking a significant step in cloud connectivity. These facilities, strategically located near AWS availability zones, offer enterprises high-bandwidth, low-latency connections, ideal for demanding applications such as machine learning (ML), large language model (LLM) training, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) for autonomous vehicles. The new 400G connections eliminate the need for managing multiple 100G connections, simplifying operations and boosting bandwidth.

CoreSite’s Silicon Valley campus is expanding with the upcoming SV9 data center, a 240,000-square-foot facility expected to be completed by the end of 2024. This addition will bring the total campus size to over 1.179 million square feet across nine interconnected facilities. Meanwhile, in Northern Virginia, CoreSite offers direct connections to all major cloud providers, with over 1.3 million square feet of interconnected data centers. Both campuses are positioned to support hybrid IT strategies and advanced AI-powered applications, providing scalable colocation and networking options for enterprises.

Juan Font, President and CEO of CoreSite, highlighted the benefits of the AWS Direct Connect service, stating, “The new 400G Direct Connect from AWS is particularly beneficial to customer applications that transfer large-scale datasets for large language model training and real-time applications like advanced driver assistance systems.”
