BT Group reported a “solid start” to FY26, with CEO Allison Kirkby highlighting the company’s progress in fiber and 5G rollouts, cost transformation, and customer satisfaction. The company now reaches over 19 million premises with full fiber broadband (FTTP) and its 5G network covers more than 87% of the UK population.
Despite a 3% year-over-year dip in adjusted revenue to £4.9 billion, BT reported strong fiber demand and operational efficiencies that helped offset macroeconomic and market challenges.
Network Infrastructure Highlights
- FTTP build: Over 1 million premises passed for the sixth consecutive quarter, averaging 81k per week.
- Total FTTP footprint: Reached 19 million premises, including 5.2 million in rural areas.
- Openreach FTTP net adds: Up 46% YoY to 566k, raising total connections to 7.1 million.
- Wholesale boost: Hyperoptic entered a wholesale agreement with Openreach.

- Business revenue: Adjusted UK service revenue down 2%, flat excluding traditional voice. International revenues fell 10%.
- Segmental EBITDA: Openreach up 5% to £1.07bn; Consumer down 3% to £636m; Business down 9% to £344m.
- Workforce and energy: Labour resource down 5% to 113k; network energy use down 5%.
- Customer satisfaction: BT Group Net Promoter Score (NPS) rose 5.6 points YoY to 30.4.
