BT has named Peter Leukert as its new Chief Digital Officer, effective September 1, 2025. Leukert, currently Group Chief Information Officer at Deutsche Telekom, will join BT’s Executive Committee and report to CEO Allison Kirkby. He will oversee BT’s Digital unit, which is focused on simplifying systems and integrating data and AI across the business.
At Deutsche Telekom, Leukert led the transformation of IT and digital platforms since 2017. His previous roles include positions at McKinsey & Co, Commerzbank, and the New York Stock Exchange. His experience spans digital strategy and IT modernization in both Europe and the U.S.
BT said the Digital unit plays a key role in its operational transformation and supports its investments in fixed and mobile networks.
