Colovore Breaks Ground on AI Data Center in Reno

Colovore has broken ground on its newest high-density, liquid-cooled data center, RNO01, in Reno, Nevada. Designed to meet the increasing demands of AI workloads, RNO01 will support next-generation AI accelerator systems with expected rack densities reaching up to 250kW. Each cabinet will be equipped with a primary liquid loop connection, ensuring efficient deployment of AI and machine learning infrastructure at scale.

RNO01 will feature Colovore’s standard offerings, including liquid cooling and high-power circuits for large enterprise deployments, with committed power supplied by Nevada Energy. Traditional air-cooled data centers are increasingly strained by the power and cooling demands of AI training and inference workloads, a challenge that Colovore has anticipated since its founding. The company’s compute-agnostic approach enables it to support both direct-to-chip cooling systems and traditional IT infrastructure without costly retrofits, optimizing efficiency for customers developing AI-driven applications.

Colovore’s expansion follows its recent acquisition by King Street Capital Management. The new Reno facility continues the company’s mission of delivering scalable infrastructure solutions for high-performance computing. With seamless power and cooling capabilities, RNO01 is designed to eliminate key deployment constraints and accelerate AI adoption.

“Colovore was built on the philosophy of staying ahead of customer needs, ensuring that infrastructure never becomes a bottleneck,” said President and Co-Founder Sean Holzknecht. “Our Silicon Valley-adjacent Reno data center continues that mission, providing seamless scalability for the most demanding and high-performance workloads.”
