Eoptolink Technology released its new OSFP 1.6T DR8/DR8-2 and 2xFR4 transceivers, targeting next-generation high-bandwidth networks for AI/ML clusters and cloud data centers. These transceivers feature eight electrical host interfacing lanes and eight optical lanes, each running at 212.5Gbps (106GB using PAM4). With advanced DSP, they can transmit up to 2km without requiring forward error correction (FEC) regeneration, helping optimize system performance and reduce latency. The DR8 and DR8-2 models offer different connector options for both point-to-point (P2P) connections and 2x800G breakout applications, while the 2xFR4 model offers fiber-saving benefits with dual duplex LC connectors.
Eoptolink’s 1.6T DR8/DR8-2 and 2xFR4 transceivers are part of a portfolio offering both EML and SiPh-based solutions, optimized for low-latency and low-power performance. The modules are designed to address the growing demands of AI and cloud networking environments, providing flexibility in network architecture. Sampling will begin soon, allowing customers to evaluate these high-performance transceivers in various deployments.
