Coherent introduced a new family of quad-channel integrated circuits aimed at advancing next-generation optical transceivers for cloud, AI, and telecom networks. The company, which has more than 25 years of experience in high-speed fiber-optic communication ASICs, is extending its open-market portfolio with solutions designed for both pluggable modules and coherent links.
The lineup includes the CHR2075, a four-channel driver for silicon photonics Mach-Zehnder modulators targeting 800G and 1.6T pluggable modules. Coherent also unveiled a chipset comprising the CHR1094, a four-channel differential transimpedance amplifier, and the CHR2094 Mach-Zehnder modulator driver amplifier, designed for 400G ZR/ZR+ coherent optical links. All devices feature integrated 10-bit monitoring ADCs and a 4-wire SPI interface, combining high performance with lower power consumption.
Samples are available immediately, with full production of the CHR1094 and CHR2094 scheduled for November 2025 and the CHR2075 following in December 2025. Coherent plans to showcase the products at ECOC 2025 in Copenhagen, booth C3124, with live demonstrations and expert briefings. “By making these products available to the open market, we are enabling faster adoption of 400G and 800G technologies and supporting the next wave of innovation in cloud and AI connectivity,” said Dr. Beck Mason, Executive VP of Semiconductor Devices at Coherent.
• CHR2075: 4-channel Mach-Zehnder modulator driver for 800G/1.6T pluggables
• CHR1094: 4-channel differential transimpedance amplifier for coherent links
• CHR2094: Mach-Zehnder modulator driver amplifier for 400G ZR/ZR+
• Integrated 10-bit ADC and SPI control across all ICs
• Production releases: Nov. 2025 (CHR1094/2094), Dec. 2025 (CHR2075)

🌐 Analysis: Coherent’s expansion into quad-channel ICs reinforces its role in supplying building blocks for 400G, 800G, and beyond, particularly as hyperscalers and telecom providers demand higher density and energy-efficient optics. The open-market availability of these ASICs aligns with industry moves by firms such as Broadcom, Marvell, and MaxLinear to standardize critical transceiver components, reducing integration barriers and accelerating deployment cycles in AI and cloud infrastructure.
