Equinix Names Former HP Executive as CEO

Equinix has named Stephen M. Smith as its new CEO, replacing Peter Van Camp, Equinix’s chairman and CEO since 2000, who is transitioning to the role of executive chairman and will remain actively involved with the company. Smith is a 19 year industry veteran and recently served as senior vice president of HP Services, the $15 billion professional services segment of HP. Before joining HP, Smith served as vice president of Global Professional and Managed Services at Lucent Technologies.
