FCC Renews Globalstar’s Blanket Mobile Earth Terminal Authorization for 15 Years

Globalstar, Inc. (NYSE American: GSAT) announced that the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has renewed its authority to operate a range of mobile earth terminals across the United States and its territories for an additional 15 years. This renewal applies to Globalstar’s U.S.- and French-licensed non-geostationary orbit (NGSO) satellites and includes continued authorization to expand its ancillary terrestrial network capabilities.

The renewed authorization ensures that Globalstar can continue providing critical satellite and terrestrial connectivity to millions of users, including support for direct-to-device applications. Alongside the August renewal of the HIBLEO-4 system, this reauthorization completes the licensing for Globalstar’s current mobile satellite infrastructure. The company has stated that future efforts will focus on enhancing and evolving its satellite network through substantial new investments.

Globalstar CEO Dr. Paul E. Jacobs expressed appreciation for the FCC’s decision, saying, “We appreciate the ongoing confidence the FCC is placing in Globalstar with the completion of the licensing renewal for our existing mobile satellite system.”

FCC Authorization: 15-year renewal for Globalstar’s mobile earth terminals and NGSO satellite operations in the U.S.

Ancillary Networks: Continued authority to expand terrestrial network capabilities.

HIBLEO-4 System: Completes the reauthorization of Globalstar’s current satellite infrastructure following the August HIBLEO-4 renewal.
