Google Cloud Opens New Region in Querétaro, Mexico

Google Cloud has launched its 41st cloud region in Querétaro, Mexico, marking its third presence in Latin America alongside Santiago, Chile, and São Paulo, Brazil. The new region aims to deliver fast, reliable, and scalable cloud services to businesses and public sector organizations throughout Mexico and neighboring regions. It also supports local data residency requirements, enabling customers to meet compliance standards while fostering innovation and digital transformation initiatives.

The Querétaro region is part of Google Cloud’s broader $1.2 billion, five-year commitment to Latin America, announced in 2022. This investment focuses on digital infrastructure, skills development, entrepreneurship, and sustainability. Google Cloud projects that this region’s impact will contribute over $11 billion to Mexico’s GDP and create 100,000 jobs by 2030. Additionally, Google Cloud is emphasizing workforce development by partnering with 550 universities across the region, offering no-cost AI and cloud training programs, and awarding over 14,000 digital skill badges to date.
