Huawei Technologies unveiled its enhanced optical transport network (OTN) solution — the OSN 8800, featuring a record cross-connect capacity of 2.56 Tbps, with the potential of a further upgrade to 5.12 Tbps.
The OSN 8800 offers VC-x (Virtual Container), ODUk (Optical Data Unit), future-oriented packet services and cross-connection capabilities.
Huawei said the optical-layer and electrical-layer ASON abilities of the platform will significantly increase reliability in transporting services across different granularities and contribute to the reduction of operating expenditure.
