Joule Capital Partners announced a strategic partnership with Caterpillar Inc. and Wheeler Machinery Co. to supply up to 4 gigawatts of power to its forthcoming high-performance computing (HPC) data center campus in central Utah. The project aims to deliver one of the largest and most advanced AI-ready data center sites in the U.S., combining scalable infrastructure with a resilient, distributed energy system based on Caterpillar’s G3520K generator sets and integrated power solutions.
The deployment includes prime power generation with integrated Combined Cooling, Heat and Power (CCHP) systems, 1.1 GWh of grid-forming battery energy storage, and backup capacity across diverse fuel types. Caterpillar’s rapidly deployable generation systems, built in the U.S., are key to meeting the short time-to-power demands of AI-driven compute growth. Wheeler Machinery, the local Cat dealer, will provide engineering, construction, and long-term support, helping ensure the site meets uptime and energy efficiency targets for Joule’s future tenants.
The Utah campus spans 4,000 acres and is expected to launch in 2026. It is purpose-built for high-density AI workloads, featuring liquid cooling and waste heat recapture technologies designed to optimize thermal efficiency. By pairing reliable on-site power with scalable compute infrastructure, Joule aims to attract hyperscale and enterprise customers requiring low-latency, AI-optimized environments.
Joule’s Utah high-performance compute data center campus will be built on a 4,000-acre tract at 11000 N McCornick Road in Millard County, approximately 21 miles north of Fillmore. The property, formerly part of Triple C Farms owned by a Joule principal, has now been rezoned for heavy industrial use. The developer hopes to commence construction and begin hosting tenants by 2026, pending approval of a conditional use permit.
