Unwired Australia Selects AirSpan Networks

Unwired Australia selected Airspan Networks for the provision of point to point (PtP) links and associated services that will provide the backhaul component of the first phase of Unwired’s wireless DSL access network in Sydney Australia. The contract represents Airspan’s first major deployment of Airspan’s AS4030 product since its introduction in October 2003. The first phase of the agreement cover the equipment delivery for installation of 65 PtP backhaul links by June 2004. The contract was valued at US$1 million.

Unwired Australia owns 3.4GHz spectrum and will use Airspan’s AS4030 product to provide secure backhaul of its carrier grade wireless Internet and phone services. Unwired secured rights to 3.4GHz radio spectrum sufficient to reach 95%of the Australian population in auctions conducted in late 2000. http://www.airspan.comhttp://www.unwired.com.au
