Roularta Media Group (RMG) has partnered with NTT DATA to deploy a Private 5G network at its 40,000-square-meter (430,000-square-foot) printing facility in Belgium. The agreement supports RMG’s goal of modernizing its manufacturing operations by integrating advanced wireless connectivity for automation, real-time data processing, and edge computing applications. The initiative aligns with RMG’s broader digital transformation strategy to enhance efficiency and reduce operational risks.

NTT DATA’s Private 5G network will enable intelligent asset tracking, push-to-talk communications, and reliable connectivity across RMG’s printing operations. The network ensures seamless communication in an environment with heavy machinery and signal interference, overcoming challenges faced with legacy wireless systems. RMG plans to expand the 5G deployment to additional facilities in Belgium, Germany, and the Netherlands.

• Private 5G use cases at Roularta Printing:

• Smart, ruggedized devices for real-time push-to-talk communication

• Intelligent asset tracking for improved logistics and operations

• Enhanced security and reliability for 24/7 printing operations

• Future-ready network for edge computing and automation

“Our industry demands uninterrupted operations 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Any downtime is a significant risk because news needs to be printed within hours,” said Luc Neysens, CIO of Roularta Media Group. “As we transform our printing operations, we’re excited to work with NTT DATA to unlock what is possible with a dependable, secure, and low-latency network.”
