e& UAE has become the first telecom operator in the Middle East and Africa to deploy Ciena’s WaveLogic 6 Extreme (WL6e) on its optical network, marking a major milestone in high-speed connectivity. This deployment enhances the operator’s ability to deliver ultra-fast 400G client infrastructure connectivity, supporting services such as 10 Gb home internet, high-capacity business networks, and AI data center traffic. By leveraging WL6e’s 3nm silicon technology, e& UAE has doubled its data transmission capacity per wavelength to 1.6 Tb/s, optimizing its existing network footprint while preparing for AI-driven workloads and future digital services.

This strategic upgrade strengthens e& UAE’s position in the region by ensuring seamless connectivity for 5G services and high-bandwidth enterprise applications. The deployment aligns with the region’s growing demand for cloud services and digital transformation, reinforcing e& UAE’s commitment to sustainable network scaling. Ciena’s WL6e technology enables greater power efficiency, allowing e& to expand its capacity while maintaining operational sustainability.
