Airspan Networks agreed to acquire Jabil’s Open RAN radio portfolio, associated Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), and a specialized research and development (R&D) team. This move enhances Airspan’s capabilities in high-power macro radio development and strengthens its position in the Open RAN market. The deal also includes the sublease of Jabil’s office and advanced testing labs in New Jersey, further expanding Airspan’s U.S.-based engineering footprint.
The acquisition adds a range of single, dual, and triple-band macro radios designed to support operators across multiple spectrum bands. By integrating Jabil’s radio expertise with its existing 5G network solutions, Airspan broadens its Open RAN offerings to better serve telecom providers worldwide. The company plans to showcase the new macro radio portfolio at Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona from March 3-6.
