Palo Alto Networks Strengthens SASE with AI, Secure Browser

Palo Alto Networks introduced significant new capabilities to its Prisma SASE platform, including Prisma Access Browser 2.0, described as the world’s only SASE-native secure browser. As browsers now account for 85% of workplace activity, Prisma Access Browser 2.0 aims to extend security directly into the browser environment, addressing gaps in traditional network protection by defending against phishing, malware, and GenAI-driven threats. Other enhancements to Prisma SASE include advanced endpoint data loss prevention (DLP), expanded Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) integration, and a unified SASE agent.

The new Prisma Access Browser 2.0 integrates protection against sophisticated attacks like AI-generated cloaking and SaaS-hosted phishing. It offers real-time visibility, data protection at the “last mile,” and improved performance for both modern SaaS applications and legacy VDI environments. With Precision AI® and LLM-powered context classification, Prisma Access Browser secures sensitive data during clipboard operations, printing, screenshots, and typing activities — all without compromising user experience.

Palo Alto Networks also expanded its SASE capabilities with enhanced shadow data discovery, stronger app performance acceleration at branch offices, and wider cloud deployment options via Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. The company said these innovations align with the needs of a cloud-first, AI-driven world where secure, seamless, and resilient digital experiences are essential for productivity.

“Secure browsers are absolutely essential for the modern workforce because today’s work is increasingly remote, cloud-based, and data-intensive,” said Anand Oswal, SVP and GM of Network Security at Palo Alto Networks.
