Swisscom Selects Blue Planet to Modernize with AI-Driven Operations

Swisscom has selected Blue Planet’s Unified Assurance and Analytics (UAA) platform to replace its legacy assurance systems and modernize its approach to managing dynamic network services. The deployment of UAA supports Swisscom’s transition toward AI-powered, automated operations by consolidating fault, performance, and analytics functions into a single, cloud-ready platform. Initially deployed across access and transport networks, the rollout will expand to mobile backhaul and B2B services, following a previous implementation in Swisscom’s data centers.

The shift comes as Swisscom advances its network transformation efforts to support more flexible services for both consumer and enterprise customers. With UAA, Swisscom gains a proactive, AI-enabled platform that enables closed-loop automation and faster, more accurate fault resolution. The platform also supports automated root cause analysis and correlation across services, applications, and customers—improving service assurance and streamlining operational workflows.

Blue Planet’s UAA platform unifies assurance across multiple network layers and domains, giving Swisscom’s operations teams end-to-end visibility and the tools to respond in real time to service performance issues. The project also complements Swisscom’s participation in IETF efforts to standardize integration methods for network assurance technologies.

  • Swisscom is replacing legacy assurance systems with Blue Planet’s Unified Assurance and Analytics (UAA) platform.
  • UAA unifies fault, performance, and analytics across access, transport, and eventually mobile and B2B domains.
  • The platform enables AI-powered, closed-loop automation and automated root cause analysis.
  • UAA simplifies troubleshooting across layers and domains, enhancing customer experience and operational agility.
  • The deployment builds on prior collaboration in data centers and supports Swisscom’s work with IETF on assurance standardization.

“Blue Planet’s UAA gives us a modern, cloud-ready assurance solution optimized for managing dynamic services, closed loop automation and delivering a better customer experience,” said Thomas Zippo, Product Manager Observability Shared Services, Swisscom.
