AT&T Launches Cloud-Based Business Voice Platform

AT&T unveiled Business Voice, a cloud-based VoIP platform designed to replace aging analog landlines used for critical communications. The new service targets small and medium-sized businesses looking to retire copper-based infrastructure while retaining existing phone numbers and equipment. Business Voice integrates traditional analog systems into a secure, IP-based solution that supports fax machines, fire alarms, security systems, elevator phones, and public safety lines.

The FCC-approved platform provides a digital replacement for traditional copper lines, which have become increasingly unreliable and costly to maintain. Key features of AT&T Business Voice include 24/7 remote monitoring, built-in battery backup for power outages, optional 4G LTE failover for broadband disruptions, and built-in spam blocking through AT&T’s Digital Phone Call Protect. Businesses can also benefit from modern calling tools like virtual receptionists, simultaneous ringing, customizable caller ID, and centralized voicemail management.

AT&T Business Voice works over any transport—shared or dedicated internet—and supports seamless integration with existing infrastructure. The launch marks a step forward in AT&T’s broader copper sunset strategy while addressing the reliability requirements of essential communication systems.
