Rackspace Technology has introduced Rackspace OpenStack Business, a fully managed, open-source private cloud offering designed for enterprises running mission-critical or regulated workloads. Announced July 8, the new service extends Rackspace’s OpenStack portfolio with a dedicated architecture optimized for security, privacy, and consistent performance—without the constraints of vendor lock-in.
The solution supports single-tenant environments, ensuring compliance for industries with strict regulatory demands. It also offers guaranteed system resources for performance-sensitive applications, making it suitable for organizations undergoing cloud modernization or application development. The platform delivers 24/7 enterprise-grade support, full API access, and proactive monitoring, and it can be deployed within hours.
Rackspace OpenStack Business complements last year’s OpenStack Flex release by offering a stable foundation for steady-state workloads. In contrast, OpenStack Flex allows for dynamic scaling to handle burst demand. Together, the two form a hybrid solution aimed at improving total cost of ownership, operational flexibility, and infrastructure control.
- OpenStack Business targets regulated and performance-sensitive enterprise workloads
- Fully managed private cloud with 24x7x365 support and monitoring
- Dedicated infrastructure ensures data privacy and compliance
- Seamlessly integrates with OpenStack Flex for scalable hybrid cloud environments
- Built to reduce reliance on proprietary platforms and hyperscalers
“Rackspace OpenStack Business is the next evolution in private cloud infrastructure,” said Lance Weaver, Chief Product and Technology Officer, Rackspace Private Cloud. “This platform is built for customers requiring performance, security, privacy and control.”
