HPE Advances Self-Driving Networks with New Mist AI Capabilities

HPE unveiled major updates to its Juniper Networking portfolio this week, introducing agentic AI capabilities aimed at pushing enterprise networks further toward self-driving operations. The enhancements center on the AI-native Mist platform, expanding troubleshooting and automation features with agent-driven workflows, a new Large Experience Model (LEM), and digital experience twins that simulate user performance outcomes. These advancements are designed to shift IT operations from reactive to proactive, enabling networks to diagnose and resolve problems before users notice.

Key updates include a broadened Marvis AI assistant with enhanced conversational troubleshooting, new autonomous remediation actions via the Marvis Actions dashboard, and the LEM framework that leverages billions of application data points from tools like Zoom and Teams. With the addition of Marvis Minis—digital twins that model and predict user experiences—the platform can pre-empt performance issues even without real-time user input. For data centers, Marvis AI now integrates with Apstra’s contextual graph database, extending automation and assurance to core infrastructure while also enabling continuous service validation.

The new features also align with HPE’s broader GreenLake Intelligence strategy, which applies agentic AI across networking, compute, and storage stacks. This unified approach enables IT teams to manage hybrid and multi-cloud environments more effectively, with full-stack observability and advanced autonomous workflows. Analysts note that HPE has been building toward this milestone for over a decade, making AI central to network operations and accelerating the move toward predictive, self-driving infrastructure.
