Teknovus Demos DOCSIS Mediation Layer Middleware

June 16, 2009

A A

Teknovus has demonstrated a DOCSIS Mediation Layer (DML) middleware that enables cable operators to EPON-based fiber networks while leveraging their DOCSIS infrastructure. Specifically, the DML middleware enables preservation of the MSO’s system integration model and all back-office systems. New FTTx-based services can be provisioned and managed using the DOCSIS and PacketCable architecture, eliminating the rewriting of subscriber provisioning and management systems and costly retraining. Preservation of existing investment is crucial to Japanese Cable Operators, who are in the early stages of FTTx deployment.

“The introduction of Teknovus’ DML will have a positive impact on the Japanese cable industry, providing an excellent tool as cable operators migrate to EPON-based FTTx networks,” stated Mr. Moriya, Assistant General Manager, Internet Technology Development, Advanced Systems Division, of Broad Net Mux Corporation (BNMUX). “We are pleased to allocate space in our booth for Teknovus and their DML product demonstration.”http://www.teknovus.com
