Africa Coast to Europe Submarine Cable Anticipates 1.92 Tbps Capacity by 2011

Plans for the ACE (Africa Coast to Europe) submarine cable system, which was initially planned to stretch from France to Gabon, have been extended to include all of the west coast of the African continent. The ACE submarine cable system, which will be more than 14,000 km long, is slated for commissioning in 2011. It is expected to deliver a minimum initial capacity of 1.92 Tbps. The ACE consortium currently comprises seventeen telecommunications operators.
