IP Infusion Releases ZebOS 7.6 with Carrier Ethernet Enhancements

IP Infusion announced the release of ZebOS Advanced Platform version 7.6 software featuring enhancements for Carrier Ethernet deployments. These enhancements include:

  • Increased support for Carrier Ethernet through Provider Backbone Bridging (PBB) that is able to scale to more than 16 million Ethernet service instances
  • Support for key technologies required to transport IPv6 traffic over existing IPv4 networks
  • Greater scalability of Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) in provider networks for speedier BGP convergence
  • Greater scalability of Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), supporting up to 1,000 nodes, 100,000 routes and 500 nodes in one area 64-bit CPU support, an increase from the 32-bit support offered by ZebOS 7.5, providing computing power to match increased network speeds.

In addition, this latest version 7.6 of the ZebOS Advanced Platform supports a number of key technologies which enable IPv6 network traffic to be carried over existing IPv4 networks.

IP Infusion said these features will help service providers manage their transition to IPv6 NGNs. ZebOS version 7.6 follows a recent announcement by ACCESS CO., LTD., the parent company of IP Infusion, introducing NetFront IP Connect middleware, which enables the timely development of commercial products for NGN home gateways. NetFront IP Connect, developed with the expertise of IP Infusion, provides the framework for extending and supporting additional technologies, such as DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) and SIP (Session Initiation Protocol). By incorporating NetFront IP Connect middleware, an NGN home gateway can easily become a central hub for digital content sharing within the home. http://www.ipinfusion.comhttp://www.access-company.com
