Research In Motion’s (RIM’s) BlackBerry service suffered a major outage across North America lasting from approximately 8 p.m. EDT Tuesday until about 7 a.m. EDT Wednesday. Email service was delayed or interrupted. According to various news sources, RIM experienced a major failure in one of its two network operations centers (NOC).
As of March 31, the total BlackBerry subscriber account base was approximately 8 million.
