Vernier Networks began shipping its latest “EdgeWall 8800” Network Access Control appliance at a price of $25 per endpoint. Key functionality includes wire-speed authenticated and validated access to all users throughout the network; protection from security threats and malicious behavior; continuous compliance inspection; and a fully integrated Intrusion Detection and Prevention (IDP) engine. The platform is packaged in a four-slot chassis design with optional interface cards.
Vernier said that unlike other solutions that only inspect traffic at pre-connect, Vernier delivers continuous post-connect traffic inspection to help organizations proactively ensure continuous compliance to IT policies.
