SkyCross, a start-up developing advanced wireless antennas, announced an investment from Intel Capital, the venture capital arm of Intel Corporation, as part of their latest round of financing led by TL Ventures. Intel Capital, through its relationship with Intel, is also working with SkyCross to collaborate on developing mobile video applications together with selected voice and data initiatives.
SkyCross said it has a number of recent design wins in the handset, PC data card, and mobile video terminal arenas worldwide. The company offers several patented antenna technologies and designs that allow its engineers to deliver high performance, multi-mode, multi-frequency antennas that can be hidden inside a mobile casing, have a very low radiation profile, and offer better gain characteristics over existing solutions.
