Fujitsu Limited (and Cisco Systems introduced the first high-end router for the Japanese market based on the strategic alliance between the companies that was announced in December 2004.
The co-branded and customized Cisco CRS-1 Carrier Routing System is built on the Cisco IOS XR next-generation operating system. Fujitsu is working with Cisco on OS features for Japanese next generation networks. The companies have also begun joint certification testing specifically for usage scenarios in Japan.
