2Wire to Acquire Sugar Media

2Wire, a developer of DSL gateways, agreed to acquire Sugar Media, a digital media software platform, as part of its strategy for delivering a “triple-play” of voice, data and entertainment services. Financial terms were not disclosed. Sugar Media’s founder and CEO, Brian Sugar, will serve as 2Wire’s vice president, media products. Prior to founding Sugar Media, Brian Sugar was chief Web officer at Internet service specialist BlueLight.com, and before that served as VP of e-commerce at retailer J. Crew.
