Nigeria's Operator Expands Deployment of Airspan's Wireless DSL

Mobitel, a Lagos, Nigeria-based private telephone operator (PTO), issued US$1.2 million in new orders for Airspan Networks AS4000 systems. Mobitel launched the wireless local loop service in Lagos in March 2003 using Airspan AS4000. It is now launching the same service in Port Harcourt, the largest oil operations city in Nigeria. A large proportion of deployed lines are utilized by Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited.
