AttoTude, a start-up based in Menlo Park, California, announced $29 million in a Series A funding round for its work in developing a next generation data center interconnect technology. This brings the company’s total funding to $40 million following an $11 million seed round in March 2024. The Series A round was led by Sutter Hill Ventures, Canaan Partners, and Wing Venture Capital. AttoTude is focused on developing high-speed interconnect technology for AI and hyperscale data centers, offering improved performance in speed, power, and reliability over existing solutions.

AttoTude said its technology will enable data communication at lane speeds from 112 Gbps to 448 Gbps and beyond, supporting high-density architectures critical for AI and hyperscale environments. The solution leverages standard manufacturing processes, allowing for easier scalability to high-volume production without the need for specialized assembly lines. The company’s approach is expected to drive significant improvements in cost and power efficiency for large-scale data centers.

AttoTude was co-founded by industry veterans Dave Welch, co-founder of Infinera, and Joy Laskar, a serial entrepreneur and former professor at Georgia Institute of Technology. Wing Venture Capital’s Peter Wagner will join AttoTude’s board as part of the funding agreement, alongside current board members such as Basil Alwan, CEO of Tarana Wireless.

• Funding Details: $29M Series A, $11M Seed Round in March 2024
