Adelphia Communications will use ADC’s FastFlow Broadband Provisioning Manager (BPM) as its exclusive provisioning solution for its nationwide high-speed data network. Specifically, Adelphia will use ADC’s FastFlow BPM to automate cable modem registration and upgrades for its approximately 800,000 broadband data subscribers. Financial terms were not disclosed. ADC’s platform is currently in use by Cox Communications, where it has provisioned cable modems for more than 1.7 million subscribers.

  • In February 2001, ADC agreed to acquire CommTech Corporation, a provider of end-to-end service order management, provisioning and activation software, for approximately $185 million in stock (13.25 million ADC shares). CommTech had developed a FastFlow software suite for order management, flow-through provisioning and service activation components. The FastFlow capabilities were seen as complementary to ADC’s own Singularit.e OSS suite.
