Adtran launched its Oscilloquartz Time Scale System, designed for precise timekeeping in applications requiring the highest levels of accuracy and traceability. The system integrates Oscilloquartz grandmaster clocks, GPS/GNSS receivers, and optical cesium atomic clocks, alongside a range of components like phase comparators and reference generators.

Adtran says its setup ensures synchronization with Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) and offers robust protection against cybersecurity threats. The system’s customizable design and real-time monitoring capabilities meet the growing need for resilient, accurate time synchronization in sectors such as national metrology and scientific research.

The Oscilloquartz Time Scale System supports up to eight different clock types, including optical cesium atomic clocks and hydrogen maser clocks, allowing it to generate a stable time scale. The system provides flexible infrastructure support by distributing outputs such as 5MHz, 10MHz, 1PPS, TOD, and IRIG-B, and supports NTP and PTP protocols. It maintains precision even during GPS/GNSS outages and automatically generates BIPM reports, essential for institutes that contribute to global time standards. With a modular and adaptable design, the system is ready for integration with existing infrastructures and ensures compliance with local legal time providers.

Gil Biran, GM of Oscilloquartz at Adtran, emphasized the innovation behind the launch. “The Time Scale System offers unmatched accuracy and resilience by combining multiple clock types into a single, stable time scale. Industries like national metrology, defense, and aerospace can now rely on this system for mission-critical applications that demand the highest precision and reliability.”

Key Points:

• Adtran launched the Oscilloquartz Time Scale System for precision timekeeping.

• Integrates grandmaster clocks, optical cesium atomic clocks, and GPS/GNSS receivers.

• Supports up to 8 clock types and distributes multiple time and frequency outputs.

• Maintains nanosecond precision during GPS/GNSS outages with real-time monitoring.

• Automatically generates BIPM reports for contributing to global time standards.

“The Time Scale System offers unmatched accuracy and resilience by combining multiple clock types into a single, stable time scale,” said Gil Biran, GM of Oscilloquartz, Adtran.

“The launch of our Time Scale System represents a major advancement in precision timekeeping. Leveraging our industry-first high-performance optical cesium atomic clocks and a fully integrated system capable of combining multiple clock types into a single, stable time scale, this solution offers unmatched accuracy and resilience,” said Gil Biran, GM of Oscilloquartz, Adtran. “At a time when industries like national metrology, defense and aerospace face increasing demands for precision and reliability, our Time Scale System will deliver the confidence needed for mission-critical applications. Oscilloquartz is proud to continue leading innovation in timekeeping, providing solutions that exceed the highest standards of accuracy, security and performance.”
