AFL has introduced DENALI™, a modular optical fiber platform designed for the rapidly evolving demands of GPU-accelerated and AI-driven data center environments. Announced from its headquarters in Spartanburg, South Carolina, the new platform aims to streamline high-density fiber deployments while enabling infrastructure scalability with minimal disruption.

The DENALI platform supports up to 288 LC duplex ports (576 fibers) in just 4RU of rack space and is engineered to accommodate speeds ranging from 10Gbps to beyond 800Gbps. It offers universal front-loading trays, rear cable support, sliding lockable trays, and removable patch cord managers. The flexible cassette system includes Base-8, Base-12, Base-16, and Base-24 configurations, with options for multimode and single-mode fiber. Applications include AI/ML clusters, hyperscale data centers, colocation facilities, campus networks, and central offices.

AFL emphasized that DENALI addresses AI-driven densification trends with a simplified deployment process, improved inventory management, and seamless integration with existing infrastructure. “The market is undergoing a major shift, where AI-driven densification is transforming how data centers approach fiber deployment,” said Marc Bolick, President of Product Solutions at AFL. “The DENALI platform was developed in response to this shift of handling faster scaling, reduced downtime and solid reliability that AI workloads actually need.”

Product Highlights:

  • High-density housing: Up to 288 LC duplex ports (576 fibers) in 4RU; MPO support up to 3456 fibers
  • Modular tray system: Universal tray fits all cassette sizes; supports front/rear loading and secure sliding access
  • Cassette configurations: Base-8, -12, -16, -24; patch, MPO, and splice-ready options
  • Trunk and patch assemblies: Low-loss, polarity-configurable MPO trunks and compact uniboot LC/SN patch cords
  • Application targets: Hyperscale, AI/ML data centers, central office, and campus environments
