Akimbo Systems, which provides an Internet video-on-demand service for television, has hired Jim Bennette as vice president of sales. Bennette joins Akimbo from Orb Networks, where he was vice president of business development. At Orb, he was responsible for content strategy development and built critical content and distribution partnerships with major content creators including broadcasters, networks and studios, as well as video-on-demand, digital music and digital photo providers. Prior to Orb, Bennette was vice president of western region sales at AIM Technology, a developer of business intelligence applications.
