Alphawave Semi has introduced a comprehensive portfolio of optoelectronic silicon solutions designed to address the rapidly expanding hyperscaler data center and AI interconnect markets. This new product lineup, consisting of the Cu-Wave™, O-Wave™, and Co-Wave™ families, delivers advanced DSP-based connectivity solutions leveraging PAM4 and emerging Coherent-lite modulation technologies, supporting data rates of 800G and 1.6T. Alphawave’s solutions are tailored specifically for hyperscalers developing accelerated AI compute infrastructure, offering reach from a few meters for electrical interconnects to up to 20km for optical transmission. At the core of these innovations are Alphawave’s proprietary WidEye™ DSP architecture and EyeQ™ diagnostics technology, which provide enhanced signal integrity, reliability, and system-level optimization.

The new product families include the Cu-Wave™ PAM4 DSP tailored for Active Electrical Cables (AEC), O-Wave™ PAM4 DSP optimized for optical retimer and gearbox transceivers, and the Co-Wave™ Coherent-lite DSP designed specifically for advanced optical transceiver applications. These solutions are already sampling, with Alphawave collaborating closely with a major North American hyperscaler and multiple industry partners. Alphawave’s strategic entry into the optoelectronics market positions the company to significantly impact the projected $4 billion DSP semiconductor market by 2028, particularly benefiting hyperscale data centers undergoing the shift toward distributed AI-driven compute architectures.

“The industry is evolving rapidly, driven by AI workloads reshaping traditional data center infrastructures,” said Babak Samimi, Alphawave Semi’s SVP & GM of the Connectivity Products Group. “Our innovations in PAM4 and our pioneering investment into Coherent-lite DSPs uniquely position us to become a trusted supplier for the growing high-speed optoelectronics market.”

• Alphawave Semi launches Cu-Wave™, O-Wave™, and Co-Wave™ DSP-based silicon for hyperscale data centers.

• Solutions support PAM4 and Coherent-lite modulation at 800G and 1.6T for short electrical to 20km optical reach.

• New DSP silicon leverages proprietary WidEye™ DSP architecture and EyeQ™ diagnostics for superior performance.

• Cu-Wave™ targets Active Electrical Cables; O-Wave™ addresses optical retimer/gearbox applications; Co-Wave™ enables Coherent-lite optics.

• Alphawave partners with leading hyperscalers to deploy these solutions within the next year.
