Amazon.com’s new “Kindle” portable reader will use Sprint Nextel’s EVDO 
network for downloading electronic books and magazines from the company’s online bookstore. Kindle users do not need to subscribe to a data plan. Amazon said the access fee is built into the price of the e-books it sells.
