AnschlussWerk Expands Network Capacity with IP Infusion and Edgecore

AnschlussWerk, a German wireline network provider, has implemented IP Infusion’s OcNOS software in conjunction with Edgecore hardware to enhance its backbone and aggregation routing capabilities. This deployment will support network interoperability and allow for seamless scalability as AnschlussWerk expands its service offerings across Bavaria and other regions. The company chose OcNOS for its flexibility in handling a range of networking needs, alongside Edgecore’s high-performance routing hardware.

This setup includes IP Infusion’s Aggregation Router software on Edgecore’s 300G Cell Site Router and 2.4T Aggregation Routers. The 300G router is designed to aggregate traffic for customers with 10 Gbps or lower bandwidth requirements at regional Points of Presence (PoPs), while the 2.4 Tbps OcNOS Aggregation Routers will handle larger bandwidth clients and perform regional traffic peering. These routers create a scalable and efficient infrastructure that meets the growing demand for connectivity across urban and rural areas.

AnschlussWerk supports regional connectivity through its independent infrastructure and provides managed services for network operation to other providers. With IP Infusion’s OcNOS as the backbone of this network expansion, the company aims to streamline operations and future-proof its network. Werner Rades, CEO of AnschlussWerk, commented, “IP Infusion’s OcNOS software with Edgecore hardware was selected for providing a compelling set of features to accommodate our rapid growth.”

  • AnschlussWerk’s Deployment: OcNOS software on Edgecore 300G and 2.4T routers for aggregation and peering.
  • Traffic Management: 300G router handles 10 Gbps and smaller bandwidth; 2.4T router supports large bandwidth and regional traffic peering.
  • Service Area: Focus on Bavarian connectivity, with services for both urban and rural regions.
  • Managed Service Provider Role: Operating networks and delivering services for infrastructure owners.
