AT&T Launches $12.99 DSL Promotion

AT&T launched a new DSL promotion with pricing at $12.99 a month (other monthly charges apply) for AT&T Yahoo! High Speed Internet Express (384Kbps up to 1.5Mbps) and the new $17.99 price point (other monthly charges apply) for AT&T Yahoo! High Speed Internet Pro (1.5Mbps up to 3.0Mbps). The offer, which is the lowest-cost broadband service in the U.S. market, is for new customers with a 12-month term commitment.

  • In Q4 2005, AT&T (SBC) added 425,000 net DSL customers, the same as in the year-earlier fourth quarter, and ended 2005 with 6.9 million DSL lines in service.
  • In Q3, 2005, SBC Communications added 528,000 DSL lines in Q3, its best-ever quarterly increase and 31% better than its net gain of 402,000 in the third quarter a year ago. As of Q3, SBC had a 23.7% DSL penetration of primary consumer access lines across its territory, roughly double the rate from two years ago. DSL penetration in SBC’s western territory reached 29%. SBC said it continues to view DSL as the key product in it consumer bundles going forward.
