Aviat Relocates HQ to Silicon Valley

Aviat Networks has relocated its corporate headquarters to a new 128,000-square-foot facility at 5200 Great America Parkway in Santa Clara, California. The relocation follows the company’s global re-branding effort as Aviat Networks, formerly known as Harris Stratex Networks.

Aviat Networks’ new facility has been completely renovated to qualify for a Gold LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification from the U.S. Green Building Council based on design and construction activities in each of the five LEED credit categories. Highlights of the renovation include the widespread introduction of “green” materials throughout the new space such as bamboo flooring and desks made from compressed recycled paper; the use of solar panel-powered carbon-free energy; and a physical location one block away from the Light Rail stop, in order to encourage employees to take public transportation. Additionally, the building construction was managed to leverage recycling and salvage which succeeded in diverting more than 95% of the waste away from the landfill.
