Axerra Networks announced the appointment of Gadi Tamari as CEO, effective March 1. Mr. Tamari recently stepped down as the CEO of RADVISION after leading it from 2001 through 2005. Prior to joining RADVISION, he was appointed VP of international sales of Lucent Softswitch after the acquisition of Excel Switching by Lucent in 1998 for $1.7B. Tamari will also become a member of Axerra’s board of directors.

Gil Biran, Founder and current CEO of Axerra, will assume the position of COO and retain his current position on Axerra’s board of directors. In his capacity as COO, Mr. Biran will continue to drive Axerra’s technology vision, managing day-to-day operations as well as research and product development.

Axerra Networks’ Pseudo-Wire solutions enable mobile wireless operators, cable operators, competitive access providers, and incumbent carriers to extend IP plus legacy data and voice services in native format over Ethernet, IP, and MPLS networks.
