Siemens Communications named Berndt Baumgartl as its new President and CEO, replacing Andy Mattes who is leaving the company. Baumgartl joined Siemens AG in Munich, Germany in July of 1986, where he held management positions in the Defense Electronics Group until late 1993. He then transitioned into the Mobile Networks business unit of Siemens, helping the company succeed in the challenging Scandinavian market. Most recently, he assumed leadership of all Siemens’ wireless infrastructure, mobile phones and wireless modules business for the North American wireless communications market. Since September 2005, he has been Chief Operating Officer for Siemens Communications.
