Broadcom launched VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) 9.0, its next-generation private cloud platform, designed to deliver public cloud-like agility and scalability with the governance, performance, and cost predictability of on-premises environments. With a redesigned architecture, unified management, and support for AI and containerized applications, VCF 9.0 positions itself as a foundational element for organizations embracing hybrid and sovereign cloud strategies.
The release introduces a single, unified platform supporting virtual machines, containers, and Kubernetes-based workloads. Built-in cost analytics, governance, and compliance tools aim to simplify operations across on-premises data centers, hyperscaler environments, and edge locations. The platform features centralized identity management, integrated log and compliance monitoring, fleet-wide patching, and support for confidential computing with AMD and Intel.
Key innovations in VMware Cloud Foundation 9.0:
- Unified VM, Kubernetes, and AI workload platform with vSphere Kubernetes Service
- Advanced cost transparency and optimization tools with predictive modeling and chargeback
- SecOps dashboard and new confidential computing capabilities for enhanced data control
- Self-service infrastructure provisioning and tenant identity management
- New recovery, AI, and security services, including VMware Live Recovery, vDefend, and Private AI Foundation with NVIDIA
New advanced services expand the VCF portfolio:
