Marconi will supply its Access Hub multiservice access node (MSAN) equipment to support the ongoing rollout and development of BT’s broadband access service in the UK. Marconi’s Access Hub combines the functionality of a DSLAM with the ability to aggregate multiple traffic types. The platform offers up to 40 Gbps of bandwidth on the backplane. In addition to the Access Hub platforms, Marconi is expected to provide BT with network installation, commissioning and support, as well as its ServiceOn Access network management system. Financial terms were not disclosed.
