ZTE, in collaboration with China Mobile’s Zhejiang Branch and Qualcomm, achieved a 5.4Gbps peak data rate during a field test in Jiaxing. This test is notable as the world’s first end-to-end field application of 3CC CA (three Carrier Component Carrier Aggregation) combined with 1024QAM (1024-state Quadrature Amplitude Modulation).

The field test utilized advanced 5G-A features, showcasing their potential to enhance the performance and efficiency of commercial 5G networks. It also emphasized the importance of 5G-A technology in enabling rapid and effective collaboration across the telecom industry, impacting system products, commercial chips, and terminals:

  • Industry firsts: Successful combination of 3CC CA with 1024QAM in an end-to-end test.
  • Enhanced user experience: Peak single-user downlink rate surpassed 5.4Gbps.
  • Spectrum efficiency: 1024QAM technology improves data transmission efficiency by 25% over previous technologies.

Looking ahead, China Mobile’s Zhejiang Branch, ZTE, and Qualcomm Technologies will continue their partnership to pioneer innovations and expand the use of 5G technologies. Their efforts are directed towards enabling a range of emerging services such as VR experiences, ultra-high-definition broadcasting, and advanced 3D applications, paving the way for a transformative impact on the digital economy and society.
