Dobson Fiber is expanding its 6,500+ mile fiber network in Oklahoma with Ciena’s 6500 Reconfigurable Line System (RLS) to enhance capacity, efficiency, and reliability. The deployment enables Dobson Fiber to meet increasing bandwidth demands, providing high-speed connectivity for residential, business, and wholesale customers across Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Texas. By integrating Ciena’s advanced optical technology, Dobson Fiber is future-proofing its infrastructure to support growing data traffic and high-performance applications.

The Ciena 6500 RLS enhances network automation and scalability, optimizing fiber utilization while ensuring low-latency, high-capacity services. This investment strengthens Dobson Fiber’s ability to extend broadband access to underserved and rural communities, working with local governments to bridge the digital divide. With this deployment, Dobson Fiber is reinforcing its role as Oklahoma’s largest privately owned fiber provider, delivering faster speeds and greater network reliability.

• Dobson Fiber deploys Ciena’s 6500 RLS to boost network performance and scalability.

• 6,500+ mile fiber network expansion supports growing bandwidth needs.

• Enhanced automation and fiber utilization optimize network efficiency.

• Improved connectivity for businesses, homes, and underserved communities in Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Texas.

• Strengthens regional digital infrastructure, ensuring future-ready broadband access.

Kevin Sheehan, CTO of the Americas at Ciena, said: “Dobson Fiber’s steadfast dedication to enhancing the digital experiences of Oklahomans is exemplified by its deployment of Ciena’s innovative optical technology. This strategic move places Dobson’s customers at the vanguard of the digital age.”
