Cisco introduced a security solution designed to protect enterprises developing and deploying AI applications. The Cisco AI Defense platform addresses emerging risks associated with AI technology, including data leakage, unauthorized tampering, and complex multi-cloud vulnerabilities that existing security tools struggle to manage.

AI Defense provides comprehensive protection across the entire AI lifecycle. It offers security for both AI development and end-user access by leveraging Cisco’s proprietary network visibility and machine learning models. Features include model validation to identify security gaps, runtime security against threats like prompt injection, and access control to prevent data misuse. The platform integrates with Cisco’s Security Cloud and Talos threat intelligence for continuous monitoring and advanced threat detection.

Cisco plans to make AI Defense available in March 2025, expanding its portfolio of AI-driven security solutions, including Cisco Hypershield.

• Cisco introduces AI Defense to secure enterprise AI applications.

• Provides protection across AI development, deployment, and user access.

• Key features include model validation, runtime security, and access control.

• Leverages Cisco’s proprietary machine learning models and threat intelligence from Cisco Talos.

• Integrates with Cisco’s Security Cloud for unified cross-domain protection.

“The adoption of AI exposes companies to new risks that traditional cybersecurity solutions don’t address,” said Kent Noyes, Global Head of AI & Cyber Innovation at World Wide Technology. “Cisco AI Defense represents a significant leap forward in AI security, providing full visibility of an enterprise’s AI assets and protection against evolving threats.”
