Cloudflare has expanded its EMEA operations by opening a new headquarters and technical hub in Lisbon, Portugal, to support its growing regional presence. The San Francisco-based connectivity cloud company now operates in 58 cities across Europe, with Lisbon being a critical part of its strategy since 2016. The new office reflects Cloudflare’s commitment to scaling its operations, adding to existing offices in London, Paris, Munich, and Dubai. Since its first Lisbon office in 2019, Cloudflare’s local team has grown from 14 to over 350 employees, with plans for continued expansion.
The opening ceremony of the Lisbon office was attended by Portugal’s Minister of Economy, Pedro Reis, and senior Cloudflare executives, including CEO Matthew Prince and CTO John Graham-Cumming. Cloudflare’s network already supports millions of internet properties globally, with notable EMEA customers such as Allianz, Banco de Portugal, Carrefour, and TAP Air Portugal. The new hub underscores Cloudflare’s commitment to Portugal’s growing tech ecosystem and the region’s vibrant talent pool.
