Coherent announced significant upgrades to its FACTOR Series of fiber-coupled diode pumps, delivering increased output power, higher efficiency, and an expanded wavelength range. The product line now features enhanced power output at 880 nm, achieving 220W with a 200µm core diameter and 0.2 numerical aperture (NA). Additionally, a new high-power pump module operating at 793 nm has been introduced, offering 200W at the same core diameter. These advancements cater to both industrial and medical applications, including Thulium fiber laser pumping.

The upgraded FACTOR Series also introduces a wider locking range enabled by volume Bragg grating (VBG) stabilization, ensuring hop-free operation over a broad range of optical output powers. Coherent’s vertically integrated manufacturing and automated in-house micro-optics assembly processes ensure consistent performance and scalability for OEM laser manufacturers. Production ramp-up of the updated product line is scheduled for spring 2025.

• Increased output power at 880 nm: 220W with 200µm core diameter, 0.2 NA.

• Expanded wavelength range: New 793 nm pump module offers 200W at 200µm core diameter.

• Improved efficiency: Enhanced power output paired with better power efficiency.

• Wider locking range: VBG stabilization for stable, hop-free operation.

• Optimized for OEMs: Consistent performance, user-friendly integration, and scalable production.

“The FACTOR Series is a cornerstone of our product portfolio, powering a wide range of solid-state lasers across various applications. These latest advancements further solidify the FACTOR Series as a leading choice for OEM laser manufacturers,” said Karlheinz Gulden, Senior Vice President for Laser Components at Coherent.
