Cox Deploys Granite's IP Resource Manager OSS

Cox Communications has implemented Granite Systems’ IP Resource Manager (IPRM) to facilitate its network migration from a leased network to its own domestic network, and to provide ongoing management. IPRM integrates Cox’s IP address information with the physical and logical network, mapping the relationships of all service resources for a complete, intelligent view of the network and Cox’s abilities. Additional IPRM capabilities include: Easier and more accurate address space planning based on standard reports and usage statistics including support for SWIP reporting to ARIN (American Registry of Internet Numbers) for additional IP address requests; IP address assignment automation linked to equipment resources; and the ability to maximize the availability of scarce IP address resources and prevent accidental duplication.
